In the route, consisting of 875.8 kilometers and divided into eight stages, Randol Izquierdo, Ricardo Cardoso and José Alberto Domínguez will represent Cuba in the under 23 category, while Jorge Rojas, Yariel de León, Joselín Piedra and Adonis Cardoso will compete in the elite event.
According to Jit, the Cuban team will be coached by Eduardo Alonso, vice president of the Cuban Cycling Federation, who has won more Tours of Cuba (six between 1984 and 1990).
National Sports Commissioner Pablo Arturo Campins pointed out that Cuba is taking advantage of the invitation to the race in Panama, and in alliance with the elite category athletes, so that the young athletes can develop more with a view to the most significant events in the new Olympic cycle.
