“Those who speak of an alleged harmony that comes from the market are proposing a new history. History is old and the results have never been good,” the Holy Father stated.
Further on His Holiness affirmed that “the State and not the market is the one that creates harmony and guarantees social justice.”
His considerations were addressed to this country’s judges on the establishment of the Uruguayan Chapter of the Pan-American Committee of Judges for Social Rights and Franciscan Doctrine (COPAJU).
COPAJU brings together judges from all over the continent joined together by the ideas of the Pope, who insists on the role of judicial actors in building a fairer society.
The Uruguayan chapter of COPAJU was made official at a ceremony held at the University of the Republic, El Observador online newspaper reported.
