The meeting was chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, who reached new consensus on improving mutual trust.
The Asian side noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and recalled the three meetings held in 2024 between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
Wan Yi stressed that under the leadership of both leaders, bilateral ties have withstood international fluctuations and maintained a healthy and stable development trajectory.
The Chinese official noted that the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two nations has been consolidated through mutual respect and firm support on issues of key interest to each other.
In addition, he stressed that the bond between the two countries established a new paradigm of relations between great powers, which contributed to the strengthening of cooperation and solidarity among the countries of the Global South.
