The airport facility is ready for inspection and approval by ECCA.
The airport currently has a 6,000-foot runway and the project cost US$14 million to build.
In the future, the authorities aim to extend the runway by an additional 2,000 feet to a total length of 8,000 feet.
Once the runway extension is completed, the airport will be able to accommodate larger aircraft and all the private jets that land at Antigua’s VC Bird International Airport.
ECCA points out that an inspection is needed to ensure the terminal’s safety protocols and it can become operational.
Authorities are now looking for a name for the airport, but nothing has been decided so far.
