According to the spokeswoman’s statement to Vedemosti on Friday, Lavrov plans to visit Malta in December to participate in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
The diplomat said that Malta must guarantee the possibility of work for all OSCE member states.
The meeting of the OSCE Council of Ministers will be held in Valletta, the capital of Malta, on December 5 and 6.
Since Russia launched the so-called Special Military Operation in eastern Ukraine, European Union nations have applied multiple sanctions against Moscow, including denying visas to Russian delegations to events of international bodies such as the OSCE.
