These mmetings constitute a space for dialogue that facilitates establishing commitments between the public and private sectors to jointly face energy challenge.

“Regional energy governance is key, with the participation by 27 countries and dialogue between ministers and companies to achieve an inclusive transition in Latin America and the Caribbean,” said the executive secretary of OLADE, Andrés Rebolledo.

According to Olade, delegates share their perspectives on key strategies to advance towards a sustainable energy future in the region.

During the opening of the event, which closes tomorrow, the Minister of Public Works and Communications of Paraguay, Claudia Centurión, highlighted her country as having the highest per capita generation of renewable electric energy on the planet. Thanks to its surplus, it has become one of the main energy exporters in the world. Olade is a public intergovernmental cooperation, coordination and technical advisory body, established on November 2, 1973 through the signing of the Lima Convention, ratified by 27 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, with the fundamental objective of promoting the integration, conservation, rational use, commercialization and defense of the energy resources of the Region.
