Cuba salutes Türkiye’s national holiday

Havana, Oct 29 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Foreign Ministry sent congratulations on Tuesday to the people and Government of Türkiye, on celebrating their national holiday.

On its X account, the Foreign Ministry ratified the will to continue to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between both peoples and nations.

Cuba and Türkiye, whose diplomatic relations were established on November 25, 1952, are going through a context of strengthening and expanding bilateral ties in all areas.

Türkiye celebrates the 101st anniversary of its proclamation as a Republic.

In 1923, the National Assembly of Türkiye approved a new Constitution and proclaimed that the new name and status of the former territories of the Ottoman Empire would constitute the Republic of Türkiye.

It also voted unanimously to elect Mustafa Kemal, hero of the wars for independence and promoter of political transformations in the country, as its first president.
