The Foundation, established in 1997 by the institutional provision of the Peace Accords, also condemned, in a press release, the Caribbean nation’s inclusion in Washington’s list of State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT).

The organization embraced Cuba’s just cause for self-determination to pursue economic, social and cultural development and to structure itself freely, without external interference.

Additionally, it noted that following the “Principle of sovereign equality enshrined in the United Nations Charter since 1945, all States are equal before international law…”

The active work instrument for developing this country’s rural and indigenous populations, acknowledges and deeply appreciates the Cuban people and government’s support, with different territories worldwide.

Despite the US blockade, the Foundation described the signs of solidarity and humanism with Guatemala as special, referring to the uninterrupted work done by Cuban doctors in the most remote communities of this country.
