The agreement was reached during the official visit of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Abu Dhabi, as part of a tour that will be extended until November 1st, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
A joint statement released on Tuesday underlines that the new framework reflects the level of the relationship between Vietnam and the UAE in the new era, with greater political trust at all heights and serves to expand the scale and scope of cooperation to make it more comprehensive, substantial and deep in all areas.
Based on that statement, to realize the vision of this comprehensive partnership, both parties agreed to promote cooperation in key areas such as foreign affairs, defense, security, legal and judicial cooperation, and advocates accelerating the establishment of new collaboration mechanisms.
Regarding economic, trade, investment and agricultural cooperation, the agreement includes the mutual commitment to actively implement the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed, with a view to increasing bilateral trade to 10 billion dollars.
Furthermore, both countries recognized the global importance of climate action and sustainable development and agreed to cooperate more closely in the development of policies, mechanisms and technical and financial solutions for a fair energy transition and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Vietnam and UAE are also committed to explore possible investment collaborations in renewable energy projects and promote efforts in environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, natural resource management, climate action and sustainable adaptive models to mitigate the effects of natural disasters.
