The Air Defense responded to what it described as “an attempted attack by the Zionist regime”, adds the laconic message, attributed by the official IRNA news agency to the head of public relations of that armed body, which it reported that the dimensions of the action are under investigation.
Despite the warnings of the leadership of the Islamic Republic to refrain from any adventurous action, this morning the Tel Aviv regime carried out an attack on a number of military centers in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam, the report continues.
It went on to admit that although air defense systems successfully intercepted many of the incoming missiles and rockets, some caused limited damage to a number of facilities that it did not identify.
Shortly after 03:30, loud explosions were heard in some areas of Tehran, which were attributed to “air defense activity”, without further details, and official sources assured that the situation remains normal and under control.
On the other hand, Israeli army spokesmen in Tel Aviv specified that the main target of the operation were missile production facilities that Iran fired at Israeli territory during the year.
So far, there have been no reports of human casualties on either side.
