The president began his tour at the San Fermín farm, which covers 10 hectares, where mostly tomatoes, garlic, malanga and cassava are planted.
The head of State also visited the Mayabeque fishing company, Pescamay, where, in addition to its export items, production contributes to the food balance of the municipality and the province, with priority to nursing and maternity homes, school centers and medical diets.
Another visit on the president’s agenda was a housing community that is being built to benefit families who live in the lower area in Surgidero de Batabanó.
According to the Presidency of the Republic on its X profile, there will be 39 comfortable houses, 12 of which were completed and eight are in structure.
When talking with local people, at various points of the tour, Díaz-Canel acknowledged that “we have lived through very hard times, but we are getting through them.”
We cannot do everything we would like, he said, but we are not stopped.
On Thursday, the president also visited institutions Artemisa province, as part of his work agenda in the country’s municipalities.
