Cuba higlights visit by Slovakian tour operators

Havana, Oct 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuban tourism authorities have welcome tour operators from Slovakia who are currently touring the island and in search of business opportunities.

Both sides indicated Thursday in a joint press release that the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) and Havanatur enterprise have greeted the visit by representatives from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as Orbis Tours’s mediating efforts among the three countries.

The Slovak Association of Tour Operators and Travel Agencies (SACKA) has chosen Cuba to host its 2023 annual meeting, which will session for a week hoping to facilitate an on-site immersion for 70 Slovak tourism experts.

The current visitors are scheduled to tour Havana, Cienfuegos and Trinidad, with a closing stay in Varadero, the main sun and beach destination here, ranked among the 10 best beaches in the world.

They said that Slovakian tourists are eager to travel abroad after the Covid-19 pandemic hiatus, which explains the 128 000 travelers from that country who chose destinations in Europe and Vietnam in Asia.

A mere 5,603 Slovaks had traveled to Cuba until October 2024. ied/abo/mem/rfc
