Syrian army shoots down terrorist drones in two provinces

Damascus, Oct 15 (Prensa Latina) The Syrian military destroyed at least nine unmanned aerial vehicles belonging to radical groups in the northwest of this Arab nation that has been facing a war imposed since 2011.

The Ministry of Defense published on its website images of the remains of the aircraft, some destroyed and others neutralized before reaching their targets in the provinces of Idlib and Latakia.

According to the military entity, terrorists intended to attack military points and civilian communities.

During the current year, Syrian soldiers thwarted dozens of drone attacks by terrorist groups deployed in the northern province of Idlib and in some parts of Aleppo.

The deadliest attack was in October last year against a cadet graduation ceremony, killing 90 civilians and soldiers, while nearly 200 were wounded.

The Syrian Armed Forces, with the support of their allies from Russia and Iran, liberated over 80 percent of the national territory from the terrorists, with some pockets remaining in al-Badieh and Idlib.
