Upon receiving the interim Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, the monarch stressed Jordan’s willingness to provide aid to the Lebanese brothers to alleviate their suffering as a result of the ongoing war. According to him, the Kingdom maintains its efforts and coordination with the Arab and European countries, to stop the Israeli offensive against Lebanon.
Abdullah II warned against the continuation and expansion of the Israeli aggression in the nation of cedars, which will push the region into a war with great costs for all.
On the occasion, Mikati thanked Jordan for its support at all stages, particularly in the efforts it makes to stop Zionist hostility against Lebanon and the people.
The Lebanese government’s top official highlighted the help provided by the Kingdom through the air bridge between Amman and Beirut to provide relief to displaced people.
As part of his visit to Jordan, the Lebanese head of government discussed with his counterpart Jafar Hassan the repercussions of the current Israeli aggression against the country and the evolution of the situation and the dangerous escalation in the Middle East.
At the meeting, Hassan reiterated Jordan’s rejection of Israel’s attacks and stressed the need to adhere to UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
Upon his arrival yesterday, Mikati was welcomed at Amman International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, and by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Lebanese Embassy in Jordan, Youssef Emil Raji.
