Some 35.5 percent of the interviewed said they preferred the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris against 15.8 percent who favored Republican Donald Trump.
The survey was carried out between September 25 and 30 among 1,224 people aged 18 and over, with a margin of error of 2.8 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
For Salvadorans, with an emigrant population in U.S. territory of more than two million people, immigration policy is less convenient if Trump wins, whose aggressive policies demonize those who migrate to the U.S.
