Granma newspaper reported on Friday that a few weeks before the Fair begins (November 4-9), more than 50 nations and dozen official delegations have already registered at the annual event, to be held at the traditional Expocuba fairgrounds, where exhibitors have so far leased 17 000 square meters for their stands.

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, indicated that some 193 Cuban companies will participate in the fair, representing all economic players currently approved by the country, with 30 of them belonging in the category of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Pérez Oliva went on to say at this year the fair, located in the outskirts og Havava, entails a special connotation, as it will celebrate its 40th anniversary as the largest multi-sector trade event in the country and the Caribbean, following an initiative in 1984 by late Cuban leader Fidel Castro (1926-2016).
