The military arrested 12 citizens in the southern governorate of Hebron this morning after breaking into the towns of Al-Shuyoukh and Idna, the official Wafa news agency reported.
In the former, Muhammad Issa Tafesh, a leader of the governmental Fatah movement, and his two sons were apprehended.
Concurrently, five other people, including a journalist, were taken into custody in the town of Al-Bireh, its neighboring Al-Amari refugee camp, and the neighboring villages of Deir Ibzi’ and Kafr Ni’ma.
Another young man was arrested in the town of Beit Anan, northwest of occupied East Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, two houses under construction and two tourist facilities in Al-Zawiya were demolished. Shortly after midnight, the IDF launched an operation against Al-Fara refugee camp, located south of the city of Tubas, which is currently under siege.
There is heavy deployment of snipers and troops in its streets amid clashes with militiamen, Wafa said.
The Prisoners Club and the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority revealed that, in the past year, Israel arrested more than 11,000 Palestinians in the West Bank.
According to official data, since the beginning of the current cycle of violence on October 7, 2023, at least 741 citizens lost their lives in attacks of Israeli police, army and settlers in the West Bank.
