Bolivia witnesses Cuba’s fidelity to Che’s example

La Paz, Oct 8 (Prensa Latina) The neighbors of La Higuera, Bolivia, witnessed today Cuba's fidelity to the example of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara, at a tribute a representation of the Caribbean island paid to the guerrilla hero.

The Consul General of Cuba in Santa Cruz, Dalai Lamar, headed the humble ceremony at the gates of the former school where the author of the book Guerrilla Warfare was assassinated by soldiers at the service of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, on October 9, 1967.

In the presence of the president of the Bolivian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba-La Paz, Alidson Gomez, the Venezuelan ambassador, Cesar Tompiz, his family and delegates to the National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, Lamar highlighted the historical significance of October 8, the date on which Che was captured after his rifle was rendered useless in combat.

The Bolivian movement of solidarity with Cuba evokes and pays tribute this Tuesday to Che Guevara, on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of his presence in the Andean Amazonian country.

Within this context, social organizations gathered in Valle Grande to attend the National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, and issued a political declaration in which they reiterated the demand for the elimination of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade on the island.
