Syrian Army liberates strategic mountain range from terrorists

Damascus, Oct 8 (Prensa Latina) The Syrian Armed Forces, supported by fighters from the popular militia Al-Quds Brigade, took complete control of the Al-Amour mountain range in the desert, after eliminating the radicals entrenching themselves in the area. Military personnel cited by several media outlets here revealed that after months of patrolling operations, uniformed personnel and their allies completely wiped out the remnants of the terrorist group Daesh in the aforementioned strategic heights, located between the governorates of Homs, Hama and Deir ez-Zor.

Images posted by the military showed hiding places and caves turned into headquarters and depots of ammunition, weapons and mines of the radicals in this mountain range. Bombers of the Russian and Syrian Air Forces took part in the operations by bombing the supply lines of Daesh extremists and their bases and deployment points.

Last June, the Syrian army stepped up its operations against the terrorist group Daesh, and managed to liberate large areas of the eastern desert from the remnants of this group.

Since its defeat in 2018, the remnants of Daesh have resorted to gang warfare and attacked supported by clear intelligence instructions to wear down the Syrian troops and their allies.
