According to a report by the Ministry of Health, the figures increased after 192 new infections with the disease were identified in the last few hours and two other deaths were recorded.
Without specifying the number of people who passed away or are affected, the government agency reported an increase in cases in the city of Al-Manaqil, Al-Jazeera State, and in the cities of Ad Douiem and Al-Gutaina, on the White Nile.
A few days ago, the health authority reported that among the Sudanese states most affected by cholera, which has been spreading intensely since August 12, are Kassala, Al-Qadarif, the Red Sea, the Northern State and the Nile River.
To control the ongoing cholera epidemic, measures such as increased environmental health interventions, food control and water chlorination are being implemented to prevent the proliferation of vectors, the Head of Health, Haithan Mohamed Ibrahim, said.
