According to what the Higher Council of Communication (CSC) of Burkina Faso announced the day before, the program “Washington Forum” of last September 19th, exalted terrorist actions while minimizing the performance of Burkina Faso’s troops in security matters.
In the same program, broadcasted simultaneously on the private radio station Ouaga FM, a toll of victims of the recent terrorist attack in Barsalogho was given without any credible reference.
The CSC also urged VOA to be more cautious and rigorous in its programs’ choice.
In addition, the CSC suspended all synchronization of Burkinabe media with international media until further notice.
Last April, Burkina Faso’s authorities suspended VOA and BBC Africa broadcasts for two weeks for disseminating false information about the army.
