Chinese Prime Minister to make official visits to Laos and Vietnam

Beijing, Oct 8 (Prensa Latina) Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang will participate in high-level meetings in Laos from October 9 to 12 and will make official visits to that country and Vietnam, the Foreign Ministry confirmed today.

According to spokeswoman Mao Ning, the program takes place within the framework of the 27th China-Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Leaders’ Summit, the 27th Asean+3 (China, Japan and South Korea) Leaders’ Summit and the 19th East Asia Summit (EAS).

Subsequently, Li Qiang will travel to Vietnam from October 12-14 at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Mao Ning highlighted the importance of relations between Beijing and its neighbors, while stressing that these countries are socialist allies whose traditional friendship has strengthened over time.

He stressed also said: “Under the strategic leadership of the top leaders of China, Laos and Vietnam, the building of a community of shared destiny has advanced steadily, pushing forward the modernization of each nation.”
