China was the main destination for Uruguayan sales abroad, a status it has held for five months, the source reported.
The positions in the Chinese market totaled a value of US$ 299 million, which represents one out of every four foreign sales of Uruguay.
In the ninth month, Uruguay’s exports accumulated six months of growth compared to 2023, a year in which the drought affected the agricultural sector.
Behind China came the European Union, with purchases of US$196 million in September and an upsurge of 51 percent over the same month of the previous year. Meanwhile, Brazil took the third post, ahead of Argentina and the United States.
