Russia destroys ship with ammunition in southern Ukraine

Moscow, Oct 6 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Armed Forces launched Iskander-M missiles on the Ukrainian port of Yuzhni to prevent a ship with ammunition from Europe from being unloaded, the Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday.

On Telegram, the Ministry posted that an array of Iskander-M missiles had been launched on the unloading site of a container ship, in the locality of Nóvie Beliari, which was carrying a batch of ammunition and weapons.

A video released by the Ministry of Defense shows the detonation of ammunition and the ship in flames.

Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, the targets of which, according to President Vladimir Putin, are to protect the population from “genocide by the Kyiv Government.” In addition to tackling the national security risks posed by the advance of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to the east.

Ukrainian troops are militarily supported by this alliance of 32 countries led by the United States.

Moscow has repeatedly warned that NATO is “playing with fire” by saturating Ukraine with weapons, and that foreign convoys with war material would be “legitimate targets” for its army as soon as they cross the border.
