UN condemns systematic Israel’s attacks on Palestinians

Ramallah, Oct 5 (Prensa Latina) The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) on Saturday condemned the systematic Israeli attacks on civilians in the occupied territories and recalled that international norms require their protection.

On X, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini condemned Israel’s latest airstrike that killed 18 people, including children, in the West Bank city of Tulkarem.

Lazzarini stressed that this was the deadliest day in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, when the new cycle of violence began in the region.

Civilians must be protected at all times, the official stressed, who has been highly critical of Israeli actions in the occupied territories.

The Palestinian Health Ministry informed that more than 740 people, including 163 minors, have been killed in the occupied West Bank in attacks by Israeli police, army, and settlers in the last year.
