According to Xinhua news agency, Xi Jinping emphasized that China and Russia, as major neighbors and world powers, forged ties based on long-lasting friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperation.
“During these 75 years, our relations have stood the test of time and have reached an unprecedented level, benefiting both peoples and contributing to a multipolar and inclusive world”. He also added that under his joint leadership with Putin, both nations increased political trust and expanded pragmatic collaboration, with significant achievements in various fields.
The Chinese president expressed his commitment to continue strengthening bilateral relations and urged to take advantage of this anniversary as an opportunity to consolidate ties, promote high-quality development and modernization of the two countries. “We are ready to work together to maintain world peace and stability and to build a community of shared destiny for humanity,” he said.
Putin in his message to Xi, expressed his “most sincere congratulations” and recalled that Russia was the first country to recognize the People’s Republic of China after its founding on October 1st, 1949, establishing close ties of cooperation immediately afterward. The Russian leader noted that, throughout these 75 years, relations have reached an unprecedented historical level, and underlined the solid collaboration in areas such as politics, trade, science and technology, and the effective joint work in international and regional affairs.
The Russian president also expressed his confidence that both countries will continue to implement the agreements reached in their meetings, further consolidate the comprehensive strategic partnership in this new era, and promote security and stability both in Eurasia and globally.
