Havana, Oct 1 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Tuesday congratulated the Communist Party, Government and people of China on occasion of their National Holiday.

On his X profile, the head of Cuban diplomacy wrote, “We celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, a sisterly and beloved nation with which we have strategic, multifaceted and comprehensive relations.”

Cuba celebrated China’s anniversary with a main event chaired by President Miguel Díaz-Canel on September 27.

During the political and cultural gathering, broadcast on national television, the speaker highlighted China’s historic development, the 64 years of relations of friendship and cooperation with Cuba, and China’s role in the international arena.

In his keynote speech on the occasion, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero noted the significance of the creation of the PRC by Mao Zedong, on October 1, 1949, and China’s contributions to the construction of a more just world.

China is a country of proven strength and determination that has experienced unprecedented economic growth and has become the world’s second largest economy, he said.

Marrero stated that the vision of Presidents Xi Jinping and Miguel Díaz-Canel to work for a Cuba-China community of shared future calls for greater efforts as socialist countries in bilateral integration and in facing complex global challenges.

Chinese Ambassador in Havana, Hua Xi, pointed out that his country is today an important driving and stabilizing force of economic relations worldwide, and contributes its strength and wisdom to keep peace in the world.

He recalled that more than six decades ago, Cuba and China established diplomatic relations, which have been strengthened over the years on the basis of mutual trust, and stressed that both countries share approaches in the defense of equity and justice in international relations.
