The DPRK armed forces will take action in the face of military provocative actions by hostile forces, which are expanding in a three-dimensional and staggered manner on and around the Korean Peninsula, Deputy Defense Minister Kim Kang Il said.
In a statement reproduced by the state-run KCNA news agency, the top military chief asserted that the country “will unceasingly improve the powerful war deterrent with which it can cope with any insecure situation emanating from the irresponsible behavior of the US”.
Mentioning the latest means dispatched by the Pentagon to the Korean peninsula, Kim Kang Il predicted the failure of such vain displays of force and attempts to intimidate the sovereign countries of the region, describing them as “military hallucinogens”.
Our army closely monitors the frequent presence of the U.S. strategic assets on the Korean peninsula and their trajectories and prepares to defend the state security environment from any threat, he warned.
The DPRK armed forces will not stand idly by in the face of military provocative acts of the hostile forces and will unceasingly improve the powerful war deterrent with which they can deal with any insecure situation emanating from the irresponsible conduct of the U.S., he stressed.
