According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, during this last period unemployment was 7.1 percent, the lowest rate in the historical series of the Continuous National Survey, started in 2012.
During the June-August mobile quarter there was a 1.2 percent increase in the employed population, estimated at 102.5 million people, a new record in the historical series, while so far this year it has been 2.9 percent 100% with 2.9 million more Brazilians employed, a figure that marked a new record in the historical series.
Sectors generating most jobs in the year were computing, communication, finances, real estate and administrative activities.
