Syria sends medical aid to Lebanon

Damascus, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) The Syrian Ministry of Health announced today the dispatch of a convoy of vehicles loaded with medical assistance for those affected by the continuous Israeli aggressions against Lebanon.

At the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing on the Syrian-Lebanese border, the Lebanese side received a shipment of almost 20 tons of medicines and medical supplies, the Syrian health agency reported.

It said that the aid includes 42 necessary items, especially those related to the emergency response such as anti-inflammatory, cardiac, digestive and children’s medicines, as well as anesthetics, materials for surgical operations and serums.

This aid is to help the Lebanese brothers in the response to the humanitarian situation they are facing due to the repercussions of the current Israeli aggression, the Ministry said.

Earlier, the president of the Syrian Doctors’ Syndicate, Ghassan Fendi, revealed that a group of specialists will go to Lebanon to help the nation in treating the wounded.

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad recently instructed the government to take all possible measures to support Lebanon facing a brutal and violent Israeli aggression.

In this same context, Health Minister Ahmed Damiriyeh declared that all health facilities and medical points at border crossings with Lebanon are fully prepared to receive all displaced persons, whether Syrian or Lebanese, and provide them with the necessary services free of charge.

Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abyad revealed that the number of victims of the Israeli aggression against that country rose to almost 600 dead and two thousand wounded.
