As disclosed, the strategy will allow articulating all the necessary investments to promote sustainable progress in the mentioned zone, through strategic projects related to the access and coverage of public services, the strengthening of transportation, sustainable tourism and the diversification of the economy, among others.
Thanks to the plan, all the municipalities of the Colombian Pacific region will benefit.
According to the Vice-Presidency’s statement, the aim is to prioritize localities where the greatest backwardness is found and implement projects through the identification of development visible nodes, and expand the impact of actions that contribute to improve the region’s conditions.
Although the Policy is established for the entire Pacific, it will prioritize the territories located on the coast and in the north of Cauca, in the southwest of the country, which is one of the regions most affected by the armed conflict.
