David Comissiong, representative of Bridgetown before the Joint Working Group for Cooperation, stated that the educational project represents his Government’s will to reciprocate the help in the training of human resources received for many years in Cuban teaching centers.
Comissiong announced the initiative during a virtual meeting with representatives of both nations to assess the results of the comprehensive cooperation program and explore its expansion to other areas.
The meeting was chaired by Cuban First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Carlos Luis Jorge, who ratified the decision to move forward in compliance with the agreements signed between Prime Minister Mia Motley and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel when the latter visited Barbados in 2022.
