According to a report, by TV Channel 8, these are penalties for non-compliance in the reduction of losses by Empresa de Energía de Honduras (ENE), a contract which represented an economic loss for the country of more than 900 million dollars and which is currently in litigation for almost 600 million dollars.
The Minister of Energy of Honduras, Erick Tejeda, explained the situation of ENEE together with the financial and operating managers, Johnny Anderson and Vladimir Rodríguez, respectively, who announced this achievement after a unanimous ruling by the Court of Appeals of the Civil Court of Appeals.
“This is one more achievement of ENEE’s administration and the democratic socialist government in favor of Hondurans, we will not give up until we recover the company, which is the patrimony of all”, Tejeda said.
He also questioned that the self-styled sectors of civil society attack the actions for the rescue of ENEE and kept complicit silence with the plan to privatize one of the most important public companies in the country, whose process was stopped by President Xiomara Castro.
