Achkienasi told Prensa Latina that as part of his agenda, he met with Giuliana del Papa, head of the Analysis, Programming, Statistics, and Historical Documentation Unit of the General Directorate for Public and Cultural Diplomacy at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI).
During the meeting held at the MAECI, the experiences in this field were discussed and both sides showed their interest in maintaining a positive relationship to facilitate these ties.
In particular, they assessed how analytical work is developed and how information products are prepared in both ministries, besides the role of so-called think tanks in supporting this activity, with academic participation in research processes and diplomatic personnel’s training.
Of particular interest was the dialogue on the complex situation that both sides are facing in processing large volumes of data and the development of new tools to facilitate the specialists’ work in activities such as collection, retrieval, and analysis of open information.
One of the common goals is to achieve greater use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support this task, Achkienasi said.
