About 2,000 delegates to attend 44th, 45th ASEAN Summits

Vientiane, Sep 23 (Prensa Latina) Some 2,000 delegates and 1,000 journalists from Laos and other countries are expected to attend over 20 meetings during the 44th and 45th Summits of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), to be held here on October 8-11.

The VIP roster will include heads of State and Government from ASEAN member countries, high-ranking officials of the dialogue partners countries and external partners countries, as well as representatives of more than 30 regional and international organizations.

Vientiane recently hosted the 56th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting (AEM) and other relevant fora on the sidelines, from September 16 to 22.

Lao’s Industry and Commerce Minister Malaithong Kommasith stated that the ministerial meeting reaffirmed ASEAN’s commitment to promote innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable supply chains in the region.
