Undoubtedly, the situation is deteriorating rapidly every day, the tension is increasing and it is a matter of great concern to us, the spokesman said responding to the question whether the Kremlin fears an escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement.

Tensions between Lebanon and Israel escalated after the army attacked a residential house in the southern Beirut neighborhood of Haret Hreik on July 30, completely destroying the building.

Among the dead was a senior Hezbollah commander, Fuad Shukr.

On September 17 and 18, explosions of electronic devices, including pagers and walkie-talkies, occurred in different parts of Lebanon, killing more than 37 people and injuring nearly 3,000, reported the latest official figures.

Hezbollah and Lebanese authorities accuse Israel, which has so far neither confirmed nor denied its involvement in these explosions.

On September 20, the Israeli army launched an alleged ‘targeted attack’ on the southern outskirts of Beirut in which Ibrahim Aqil and 15 other Hezbollah militants, including members of the Radwan Force chain of command, were eliminated.
