The President arrived the day before in the U.S. city, where he will participate in the high-level segment of the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations, during which he will inform world leaders of the efforts to restore peace in the DRC and protect its borders against the aggression of Rwanda.
According to the Presidency’s account on the social network X, the head of State will also participate in bilateral and multilateral meetings to advocate on behalf of his country, a candidate for a seat on the UN Human Rights Council to be elected next October 9.
This session takes place in an international context marked by a breakthrough in the reform of the UN Security Council, longed for by Africans, in which the DRC has expectations, as the largest French-speaking country in the world and possessing one of the largest natural reserves to face climate change.
