The mayor’s office of La Paz filed a complaint with the police, warning that the grenades were fragmentation explosives found during a cleaning job.
“We have found grenades, I have asked the administrator to seal the place, and the police have been informed. We do not know how far back, but we have prevented tampering and have all the security,” the municipal mayor, Iván Arias, said.
Arias wished for the prompt arrival of the Felcc, while explaining that it was a rare finding, in the place where a cleaning was being carried out.
He added that the amount of artifacts contained in the box has not been determined and that the Fire Department personnel went to the location to establish all the security measures, while waiting for the investigations.
This discovery has as immediate antecedent the discovery last Saturday of a war arsenal in the Santa Cruz airport of Viru Viru, which included 100 AK-47 modern assault rifles. Likewise, 80 shotguns were seized, including semi-automatic and repeating 12 mm shotguns, six Akdas nine-gauge carbines and six SEMX 55K 5.56 assault rifles.
According to initial inquiries, the weapons originated in Türkiye and passed through Colombia before arriving in Bolivia.
