According to the National Assembly of Cuba’s People’s Power (ANPP, parliament), the Vietnamese guests will meet with representatives from the Cuban Legislature and the Council of State, including the local Parliament’s Speaker, Esteban Lazo.
They will also tour places of economic, historical, scientific and cultural interest.
Upon their arrival the day before at the José Martí international airport in Havana, the legislators were welcome by the Hero of the Republic and member of the Council of State, Gerardo Hernández.
He told the entourage that it is an honour to chair the Cuba-Vietnam Parliamentary Group, because he is part of a generation that grew up admiring the heroism of the Vietnamese people.
For his part, Duc Hai said he was very happy to visit Cuba for the second time and meeting now “with our Cuban brothers”, at a request from the President of the Vietnamese National Assembly, Tran Thanh Man.
Vu Hai Ha, President of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Vietnamese legislative body and of the Vietnam-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group, also attended the meeting.
