Santana told Prensa Latina that he visited the International Exhibition Center E with Consul Neudys Casanova, to share with the group’s members attending this event. It is the oldest of its kind in the world.
The Cuban team, named “UH Top”, consists of the University of Havana students Leonardo Daniel Artiles, Jorge Alejandro Pichardo, and Ariel Gonzalez, with Professor Hiram Borbolla as a coach.
The diplomat stated that the young university students intend to improve on the results achieved by their peers in previous competitions.
Accompanying the team are Tomas Orlando Junco, Executive Director of ICPC Cuba; Yisel Clavel, Assistant Director of ICPC Cuba and Cuban 2025 Regional Headquarters at the University of Holguin; and Dovier Antonio Ripoll, General Director of ICPC for the Caribbean.
The International Collegiate Programming Contest is an annual computer programming competition between teams of three students and a coach. They work to solve real-world problems, fostering collaboration, creativity, innovation, and the ability to work under pressure.
