This Wednesday, Ecuadorians will experience a national blackout in the midst of the wave of violence in the national territory that forced the Executive to declare a curfew in six provinces under a state of emergency.
According to the government, the nationwide power outage will be carried out e strengthen the transmission system and distribution networks to address the crisis in the sector.
The work will be carried out from 22:00, local time, on September 18 until 06:00 the following day, according to a press release published by the Presidency’s social network X.
At the same time, a curfew will be in effect in six jurisdictions and the Camilo Ponce Enríquez canton, one of the most violent here.
Last September 9, President Daniel Noboa ordered the Armed Forces and the National Police to reinforce the security of the most important hydroelectric plants in the country.
