“[Israel] committed a bloody aggression against our Lebanese brothers by carrying out an electronic attack detonating hundreds of communication devices,” the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, denouncing that Tel Aviv used technology as a means to perpetrate massacres and bloodshed, which constitutes a despicable precedent.
The document indicates that Damascus strongly condemns this terrorist aggression and this new bloody crime against civilians in Lebanon, and considers that it reflects the desire of the Israeli regime to expand the scope of the war and shows its thirst to shed more blood.
The Foreign Ministry expressed Syria’s firm solidarity with the Lebanese people and support for their right to defend themselves, and called on all countries and peoples of the world to unequivocally condemn this infamous aggression.
“We have full confidence in the ability of our brothers in Lebanon to overcome the aftermath of this treacherous Zionist aggression,” the ministry said.
The Lebanese Minister of Health announced that the death toll as a result of the Israeli cyber aggression, carried out by detonating devices known as pagers or beepers, had increased to 11 dead and four thousand injured, including 400 in critical condition.
