According to a recent statement from the Ministry of Energy and Mines quoted by the Pastrán Report bulletin, this Central American nation closed the month of August with an electricity coverage of 99.51%, ranking first in this indicator at a regional level.
According to the information disclosed, the goal for this year is to reach 99.57% coverage, for which they are advancing in the electrification of 8,805 homes and normalizing some 4,969, with an investment of 26.9 million dollars contributed by the national Executive and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration.
In addition, 32.67 kilometers of new networks were rehabilitated in Managua, Jinotega, Matagalpa, León, Boaco, Rivas, Carazo, Masaya and Granada, and 4.07 million dollars were invested in reducing losses in four departments.
Also highlighted was the generation of electricity with renewable sources from January 1 to this month, whose production represents 63.65%, while 36.35 was with non-renewable sources.
