Russia’s Angara-1.2 rocket launched with military satellites

Moscow, Sep 17 (Prensa Latina) The Angara-1.2 carrier rocket with military satellites on board was successfully launched from the Plesetsk State Test Cosmodrome in the Archangel province, northeastern Russia, on Tuesday at 10:00 (Moscow time), the Defense Ministry's press service informed.

On April 24, then-Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that Russia plans to launch three Angara rockets in 2024.

The Angara series rockets use environmentally friendly fuel based on kerosene and oxygen.

The range includes the light Angara-1.2, the medium Angara-A3, the heavy Angara-A5 (with a modernized A5M version), and the super-heavy Angara-A5V.
