Global Governance and Multilateralism: Opportunities and Challenges; Towards a World 2.0. Cooperation to Reduce the Digital Division, and Youth Leadership and Participation in Building a Better World are the issues for the participants to address.
Organized by the Havana-based Cuban Association of the United Nations (ACNU) and the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (RCO), the Roundtable Discussions aim to involve young people in significant global and national themes.
These Roundtables are part of Cuba’s preparation for the Summit of the Future, an event that will involve member states and non-state actors, the UN release stated.
The text noted that the aim is to involve the new generations “in proposing solutions, taking into account the country’s needs and priorities.
The Summit of the Future is a high-level United Nations event that will be held at the UN headquarters in New York on September 22-23, with the participation of states and several social leaders.
