Damascus welcomes the work of the UN agencies and facilitates their work to optimally fulfill their mission, especially in the current early recovery phase, the foreign minister said during his reception on Sunday at the Foreign Ministry headquarters of Barbara Manzi, regional director for Arab countries of the United Nations Development Coordination Office.
He clarified that Syria was a model of economic development before the terrorist war imposed on it, and specified that the Government is ready to provide assistance to all its citizens throughout the national territory.
He urged the dignified return of all refugees who were displaced by the force of terrorism, and referred to the package of governmental measures and presidential decrees taken to achieve this end.
The Minister denounced that some, unspecified in this regard, are bent on deliberately prolonging the crisis and hindering recovery.
The US occupation forces and their mercenary militias carry out looting of Syrian oil and wheat, in addition to cutting off water depriving one million residents of Hasakeh of this liquid, the head of diplomacy said.
He also urged to stop ‘the war of genocide perpetrated by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories’.
In turn, the UN official expressed the desire of the world organization to make additional efforts to meet the growing needs in Syria and the region.
The Foreign Minister said that what is happening in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank has complicated the situation in the region and the UN’s efforts there.
