US Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Alexis Taylor made the comments at a press briefing. She is leading a large
delegation representing the Department of Agriculture, companies, and agricultural producer associations.
The visit also demonstrates our desire to promote cooperation with Vietnam, as both countries are complementary in agricultural trade, stated Taylor, who reaffirmed the commitment to continue promoting cooperation on climate change adaptation and sustainable agriculture.
Quoted by the Voice of Vietnam, Taylor noted that this working visit aims to promote direct meetings between companies and learn about Vietnamese market conditions through field visits, meetings with industry experts, and bilateral exchanges with government agencies.
The visitor acknowledged that Vietnam is an active participant in agriculture innovation, food security, and climate change response,
and mentioned a bilateral program to help Vietnam’s agricultural sector become more resilient and the Mekong region initiative on the efficient use of fertilizers.
