The director of Public Relations of this organization, Captain Kabiru Ali, declared that the armed actions were carried out successfully in the local area of Shiroro, after the air force received information that a hundred extremist elements were confronting Army troops in that area.
The attack, which resulted in the seizure of several weapons from enemy fighters who fled under heavy shrapnel, also destroyed several motorcycles and other means belonging to the radical elements, the source said.
Ali also reaffirmed the commitment of the NAF, in collaboration with the surface brigades, to continue the elimination of extremist and criminal groups in the African country in order to achieve a more secure environment.
In areas of northern and central Nigeria, irregular groups such as Boko Haram and its offshoot, Islamic State in West Africa, have been carrying out assaults on various targets, including civilians, and kidnapping, extortion and murder of people for several years.
