Pezeshkian was received at Baghdad International Airport by the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.
According to the Iraqi News Agency, both sides will also discuss ways to enhance economic, security and trade cooperation, and partnership in a number of development sectors.
The delegations will sponsor the signing ceremony of a set of memorandums of understanding in the field of tax cooperation, and in agriculture, natural resources, communications, social protection, youth and sports, education, tourism, cultural and artistic exchange, cooperation in antiquities, as well as in the sectors of vocational training, the development of skilled labor and cooperation between chambers of commerce.
Prior to the visit, Pezeshkian highlighted the close ties that have united the Islamic Republic and Iraq since ancient times, as two neighboring and friendly countries with political, economic and social relations, Iranian media reported.
Pezeshkian’s tow-day stay in Iraq will include a meeting with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, a tour of the city of Basra and the Kurdistan Region.
