A tropical wave whose influence affected the Salvadoran geography with heavy rainfalls over the weekend could reach up to 90 percent probability of a cyclonic development in the Gulf of Mexico, the authority said.
The day before, the MARN said it is monitoring the disturbance due to its probability to develop in the next 48 hours over the Gulf of Mexico, which will generate rains and storms with its bands of clouds over Central America.
“The Tropical Wave is expected to continue its displacement towards the northwest, favoring the formation of a cyclonic circulation, bringing the Intertropical Convergence Zone closer to the Central American coast, generating rains and storms in El Salvador,”Medio Ambiente said through its social networks.
A few days ago, the Central American area had had frequent thunderstorms, rains and sometimes winds above 40 kilometers.
“We maintain constant monitoring of its evolution and trajectory to provide updated and timely information to the population,” according to the latest report from MARN .
